Mix of cash and cards. Credit cards widely accepted in cities. Istanbul increasingly cashless. Cash needed in smaller towns. Turkish Lira fluctuates — good value for tourists.

Mediterranean and continental climate. Tap water generally safe in cities but bottled recommended. Bargain in bazaars. Mosques require shoe removal and modest dress.
